La Fosse Holiday Cottage

Location

The house is set in three quarters of an acre of well kept garden. There is a mixture of sunny lawn and areas shaded by established trees, this extremely tranquil location is ideal for spending long summer days. The patio proves great for BBQs.
The house nestles at the head of a small valley ("fosse" meaning valley end), a short distance from Vimoutiers, a small market town. Close by are the towns of Gace, Le Sap and Orbec with their traditional markets offering fresh Normandy produce including Camembert, cider and Calvados. There are many restaurants and bistros nearby providing a range of delicious menus to suit every palate and pocket.
The countryside immediately surrounding the house is great for cycling and walking. There are numerous "circuits" which start and end at the house - maps are provided to make sure you find your way around.

Local attractions:

There are lots of attractions nearby to suit every member of the family: -

Half an hour away are aqua parks (L'Aigle & Lisieux) - great for all ages whatever the weather.
Various stables offering pony riding & hacks.
Different opportunities for fishing – for serious angler or smaller members of the family.
The area has a great military history ranging from the Normans in the C11th to World War II.
The region also has a great gastronomic tradition with many famous local cheeses (camembert, livarot), seafood and apple based drinks (pommeau, calvados).

Or, you could think about a day trip: -

Swiss Normandy is only 50 minutes away and offers lots of more extreme sports – e.g. bungy jumping, kayaking.
Disneyland Paris can be done in a day trip – two and a half hour drive.
To visit Paris for the day you can take the train from Argentan or Lisieux (both stations about 25 mins drive).
